The repair program for locomotives is complete
The locomotive repair program, aimed at improving the reliability of railway technology, was completed in 2018.
More than 9.5 thousand scheduled maintenance and repairs of main and shunting locomotives of different series were conducted in 2018. Including 46 locomotives of a series VL-80 and CME underwent a major overhaul with an extension of service life.
- As part of the implementation of the plan of measures to improve the technical condition of locomotives, audits on the quality of repairs are conducted on an ongoing basis. Monitoring of Locomotive Maintenance Points (PTL) and service centers is being monitored for their supply with metalworking tools, measuring devices and other equipment. Employees of the fire protection plant, service centers, and locomotive crews are trained in the maintenance and troubleshooting of locomotive units, ”said Yeldos Tokbergenov, general manager of the organization for repairing traction rolling stock of KTZ-Freight.
Locomotive brigades before the trip and at the stops at the railway stations examine the locomotives, assess the state of attachment, the responsible units, components and parts. Inspection of brake equipment, automatic couplers, speed-gauges, automatic locomotive signaling, and wheelsets is being carried out.
