More than 3,200 emergency braking of freight and passenger trains to prevent raids on railways was registered in 2018.
In 90% of cases, thanks to the professional actions of locomotive brigades, it was possible to prevent raids on people, vehicles and livestock. Unfortunately, with a weight of a freight train of 6 thousand tons and a speed of 60-80 km / h, the stopping distance of 600-800 meters, the train cannot stop immediately.
The main reason for injuries on the roads is the carelessness and inattention of citizens crossing the rails in unidentified places. According to statistics, 20% of people injured on the railway, walk in headphones, do not hear the locomotive sound signals. Also of concern is the behavior of thrill-seekers who arrange games on railway tracks, taking selfies in dangerous places.
The sad statistics complements injury and complement the drivers of vehicles. On crossings, they ignore traffic safety rules and endanger not only their lives, but also the lives of passengers.
A threat to the safety of train traffic is livestock, which is on the railroad tracks due to the owner’s irresponsibility.
On an ongoing basis, railroad workers conduct extensive outreach and awareness-raising work. In 2018, the leaders of regional and linear enterprises conducted more than 2,300 raids in places of mass unauthorized transfer of people across railway lines, and explanatory conversations were held with violators.
More than 2,700 explanatory meetings were held on the rules of being on the railway tracks for residents of settlements located near the railway. Lectures attended by more than 70 thousand citizens. 167 meetings were held with the demonstration of videos in educational institutions for students, teachers and parents on the topic “Railway - high risk zone”.
165 speeches in mass media of the first leaders of the regional level (radio, television, newspapers) to prevent third parties from entering the railways were organized.
In the places of mass crossing of people across the railways, 2,724 signs were installed and 1,428 warning signs were updated.
Currently, the issue of strengthening administrative liability measures to violators for non-compliance with the requirements of the established norms of legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in particular, on increasing penalties for individuals to 10 MCI, is being considered.
